REMINDER for families of students in grades 6, 9 and 12 — Orientation is next Wednesday, Aug. 21 in the auditorium at the following times:
• 6th grade: 5:30-6:15 p.m.
• 9th grade: 6:15-7 p.m.
• 12th grade: 7-7:30 p.m.

During the last two weeks of Summer Program, students visited the Van Hornesville Fish Hatchery, Hardy Farm, and wrapped up their community projects. Summer program finished with a Splash in Otsego Lake when the students visited Glimmerglass State Park.






Summer program has been a cow of a good time! Students have been learning about local history, creating obstacle courses and programing robots, building forts, designing amusement parks, swimming, and they even visited a local dairy farm!











2024-25 Fall Sports Parent meeting will be held in the Richfield Springs cafeteria on Tuesday, August 13th at 6 pm. All modified, Junior-Varsity and Varsity athletes and parents are encouraged to attend. This is the opportunity to meet coaches, ask questions and learn where and when practices will be. All varsity and JV practices begin Monday, August 26th. Modified practices begin after school on Wednesday, September 4th. Please go to the schools Athletic page on our website to fill out Family ID before the meeting. This will be available starting August 1st.

The Owen D. Young pool is now open. Today's hours are 2:30-6pm. It will be closed Thursday, July 4th but will be open on Friday, July 5th and Saturday, July 6th from 12-5.

The Owen D. Young Pool will open for open swim on Thursday, June 27th. Pool hours will be: Monday-Thursday 2:30-6:00 pm, Friday and Saturday noon - 5pm. The pool will be closed on Sunday's.

LAST DAY OF REGULAR CLASSES FOR GRADES 6-12 IS MONDAY, JUNE 17 .... MONDAY, JUNE 17 is the last day of regular classes for students in grades 6-12. Students must attend school until June 17. After June 17, students in grades 6-12 only need to attend school if they have a scheduled review class or Regents exam. Students will be able to sign up in the guidance office for transportation to and from school as needed, from June 18 - June 25.

Sharon Springs 3rd Grade joined ODY's 3rd grade class for a visit to our Nature Trail! The students were able to meet new friends, show teamwork skills, and share a little background about the trail from their research! Ms. Folts was happy to be able to collaborate with another local school district this year to share with them more about the local history and communities.





Our Juniors hosted an Enchanted Garden themed Prom at the Barn at Hogs Hollow. There was excellent music provided by Lisa Eissler and delicious food from Tuller’s catering. They danced the night away on this wonderful evening. A huge thank you to all that helped make the evening a success!




Congratulations to our RSODY softball team! They are the 2024 TRI-VALLEY LEAGUE CHAMPIONS! On to sectionals next week. Way to go, ladies!

Our 10th grade students are learning about nutrition, recipes, and the importance of measurements in Health class. Today they tested out their recipes and learned about the nutrients and calories in the different combinations they came up with.





3rd graders participated in a GLOW DAY! They worked on reading and math skills and enjoyed some time with the sphero robots. "Today you will Glow when you show what you know!"






Learning is Electrifying! The Kindergarteners learned about static electricity with Mr. Pollock.









PreK through 3rd grade students had a visit from Tulip the calf in honor of Ag Literacy week! Accompanying Tulip were Mr. and Mrs. Doody who read a book to the students and gave each student their very own book to keep! Thank you Doody family!
