    The ODY Board of Education has approved the proposed budget for the 2019-2020 school year.  There will be an informational meeting on Monday, May 13 at 6:00pm in the Founders Study and the vote on the proposed budget will be Tuesday, May 21 from noon to 8:00pm also in the Founders Study.  For more information please open the link to view the proposed budget newsletter and the budget notice.

  • f The ODY Annual Science Fair will be on Tuesday, May 21 in the Auditorium from 4:30pm to 6:00pm.  Project and research displays from students in grade k - 8 will be up for viewing.  Please come and see some of the amazing things our young scientists have been up to this year.

  • ODY ODY is participating in a pilot School Climate Survey.  Parents/Guardians are asked to follow the link below and fill out the quick survey.  Other slightly modified surveys will also be given to students, teachers, and staff.
     
    The survey will ask questions in the areas of engagement (cultural and linguistic competence, relationships, school participation); Safety (emotional safety, physical safety, bullying/cyberbullying, substance abuse), and Environment (physical environment, instructional environment, mental health, discipline). 
     
    Objective:
    The objective is to provide districts and schools with a tool to easily evaluate school climate. The use of these surveys will establish baseline data to assess the school/district environmental climate. This survey will be the first step in meeting the new DASA requirements.

  • ddc Owen D. Young will be hosting a Defensive Driving Course to be held over two nights on May 28th and May 30th from 6-9pm.  The District would like to open the class up to our community members.  If you wish to attend please join us in the Founder's Study May 28th prior to 6pm to register.  Cost per person is $30.

  • ody This past winter the Owen D. Young Central School used four of our five emergency days built into the school calendar.  We, therefore, have one "unused" emergency day to consider.

    As a result, on Friday, June 7, 2019 school will not be in session.

  • sp Owen D. Young will once again be offering a summer program for students in Kindergarten through 6th grade.  The program will be on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, July 9th through August 8th.  Transportation will be offered from 4 locations and the program will run from 9am – 2pm.  If interested please contact Mrs. Armstrong at 858-0729 asap.

  • dancers The 2019 Prom 'The Enchanted Garden' will be held on Saturday, May 18 from 5-10 PM at Madison Hall in Morrisville.  Students in grades 9-12 can purchase tickets starting Tuesday, April 2, from a junior during lunch or anytime during the day from Mr. Hutchinson.  The cost is $40 for a single and $50 for a couple.
