The Owen D. Young School District is looking forward to welcoming the class of 2036 next year! You read that correctly …. next fall’s kindergarten class will graduate from ODY in 2036!
To register for kindergarten, your child must be at least five years old on or before December 1, 2023 and you must be a resident of the ODY school district. To register your child(ren) for kindergarten for the 23-24 school year, please contact Wanda Armstrong in the main office at (315) 858-0729 to get a registration packet and set a screening appointment.
Owen D. Young Central School will hold kindergarten screenings for the 2023-24 school year on FRIDAY, MAY 19. The purpose of the screening is to meet our incoming students and their family members, and assess if the student will have any special needs that staff should anticipate. Screenings are important to make sure students have all they need to have a successful first year in school.
It is required that you bring copies of your child’s birth certificate and immunization records, along with the completed registration forms, to kindergarten screening day. N.Y.S. Health Law requires immunizations against measles, Hepatitis B, mumps, German measles (rubella), poliomyelitis, diphtheria/DPT and varicella (chicken pox).
