Over the past couple of weeks, fifth-grade students have been immersed in the world of poetry while exploring technology in the writing process.
They’ve been learning how poets express ideas, emotions, and experiences by using their senses and imagination to bring words to life. Recently, students combined their writing and artistic talents to create Concrete (Shape) Poems—where the words form shapes that reflect the poem’s theme.
Using their own drawing skills or digital design tools like Canva, students turned their poetry into visual works of art. From creative shapes to thoughtful word choices, it’s been amazing to see their ideas come to life in such fun and unique ways.
